My father once said: 'If you’re going to be a photographer, you might as well just move into the alley by the dumpster.' But he could not deter me from making photography my profession. I very much wanted to learn everything there was to know about photography and was fortunate to get my start and receive my initial training in analog photography. Thanks to my husband, I learned how to work with photo agencies. It was very exciting to be able to offer agencies my own photos and to have the freedom to explore my ideas. I still consider this to be a powerful incentive for working with agencies that offer image licensing rights. So far, I haven't had to turn to dumpster diving.
